There are 9 different patterns for options. Follwing are the commonly used patterns.

▼ The different effect of Diamond Cut made on Brass Coins & Zinc Alloy Coins

◎Diamond cut on brass coins is done after electroplating, therefore the diamond cut edge shows the original color of brass. If the coin is electroplated in nickel, the diamond cut edge is in brass color and the whole coin has an additional two-toned effect. (ref. left image below)

◎Zinc alloy coins are diamond cut the coin edge first and then electroplated. Therefore, the whole piece of the coin is always in the same tone. After diamond cutting process, the metal substances will be revealed without protection. Because zinc alloy will be tarnished or stained without the electroplated coating, that’s why it is necessary to go through the process in this order. (ref. right image below)

▲ The overall results of diamond cut on brass coins

are usually better and more attractive than zinc alloy coins. Without the coating from electoplating, the cuts on brass coin are sharp and crisp and also show a nice two-tone effect.
