Printed or Molded Silicone Patches for Clothes

Printed silicone patches or clothing labels can achieve a raised 2D or completely flat effect, with thickness to a maximum of 1.5mm. It is recommended to use no more than six colors to avoid misregistration. Another technique involves creating a custom silicone mold. These molds can feature intricate details such as 3D curvatures and textures. Once the silicone is molded, the back is coated with adhesive and then pressed onto the base fabric. Typically, 3D silicone patches are made with one or two colors. Using many colors increases production difficulty and leads to a higher failure rate. The surface of the silicone is usually matte. If a glossy surface is required, an additional layer of glossy paint is applied to the surface.
