Photo Etched Pins and Ornaments

The main characteristic of photo etched pin is its thickness which is 0.8mm only. The pins are made from a thin metal plate through acid etching, coloring filling, then cutting off each individual emblem. The areas for enamel colors on photo etched pins are shallow and the colors do not sag as deep as soft enamel so sometimes it creates an illusion of imitation hard enamel colors.



Specifications of Photo Etched Soft Enamel Pins

  • Material: brass plate of 0.8mm thick is our standard, thinner or thicker brass plate is available upon request.
  • Colors: Soft Enamel (in liquid form)
  • Motifs: Made by etching with acid chemical.
  • Epoxy: optional.
  • Color Chart: Pantone Matching System.
  • Strength: The total lead content of soft enamel colors conforms to the specifications of US CPSIA HR4040
  • Production Procedures: Film preparation → Transferring motifs from the film onto brass sheets → Motifs etched in acid chemical bath → color filling (sheet by sheet instead of piece by piece) → baking at the temperature of 160°C → polishing (sheet by sheet as well) → external shape cutting → attachment soldering → racking before plating → electroplating → epoxy covering if necessary → packaging.
